Extinction questions

For a time, birds did not inhabit Guam because of the larger ratio of snakes? Without birds, there is much more silence, and the beauty of life is missing. Without primates, because all are maybe heading to extinction, do we have a hopeful future, because we are very much like them. I just posted the link in my links area.
